Mental Health Awareness
Mental health awareness in rural farming communities is a pressing yet often overlooked issue. The unique challenges of agricultural life, including isolation, financial stress, and the inherent unpredictability of farming, can contribute to high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among farmers and their families.
However, stigma surrounding mental health issues often prevents individuals from seeking help or support. Moreover, limited access to mental health services in remote areas exacerbates the problem. Recognising these challenges, efforts to raise awareness about mental health in rural farming communities are crucial. By providing education, support, and access to resources. Here at Len’s Light we aim to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and shine a light on mental health awarness to ensure that those in need receive the help and support they deserve.

For far too long suicide has been classed as a ‘dirty word’ in British society and is quickly swept under the carpet.
Nothing will change until society gains the ability to open up honest conversations about how they really feel and the impact of someone taking their own life has on them.
We all need to gain the confidence to start a conversation regarding the subject of suicide and to realise that entering into a conversation we have the potential of saving a life.
We aim to focus on positive mental health and to get everyone to understand that mental health is forever changing, within a day, within a week or within a month. It is not a negative but a positive to understand how you are feeling and what and who makes to feel better.
Open honest conversations about positive mental health will help to keep families and communities together.

A message that was relayed by tractor around England, Scotland and Wales, building on the 5 a day challenge for which over 20,000 wallet-sized cards have been issued so far. We want to thank so many people, so much, for their kind support and generosity following the tragic loss of Len. We could never have achieved so much without you and want Len’s Light to be a beacon of hope as we try, in return, to give something back to the rural community.
