Lynda and Andy Reach Westminster
Andy was at the wheel of a tractor provided by John Deere, fitted with a front-mounted beacon that was made by Len’s friends. Along the route, the couple stopped to meet and talk to people at livestock markets, including Longtown, Carlisle, Penrith, Kirby steven, Lancaster, Bentham to name a few.
Lynda said ‘We were both amazed by the level of support we had throughout the country. Meeting local communities, the markets, the auctioneers and the local people who came out to see us was, for me, a highlight because it meant that our message really meant something.’ Andy added ‘It was an incredible journey, and every mile was worth it. We’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime and laid foundations for us to carry on our work and take rural mental health to the next level.’
Lynda and Andy reached London on 6th July and became the first tractor to enter the gates of Westminster.
