Mind Your Head Week

We are asking Livestock Markets, Young Farmer Clubs, Universities and Colleges to host a tea break, bringing everyone together to talk.

Everyone has a voice, a value, a family and a community to be part of and proud of. Respect is something we all desire and deserve and is the mainstay of positive mental health. So, let’s be positive and proud of our industry and ourselves, come together and talk about how we are really feeling.

Getting Communities Talking

Andy and Lynda lost their son, Leonard to suicide in 2022 at the age of 22. Since then, they have talked to many families and communities who have also lost loved one and the overwhelming comment is ‘its shit’! However, out of adversity we all need to find a positive and getting communities talking has always been one of their main focuses.

Mind Your Head Week was chosen for The Big Farming Tea-Break as positive messages will be put out all week through the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies), who this year are celebrating 10 years!

Helping Future Young Farmers

However, 14th February 2024, would also have been Leonards 25th birthday and is therefore a very poignant day for Andy and Lynda and one that they want to highlight as an important date within the legacy that they are leaving in his name, to help future Young Farmers and the industry that he loved.

Andy and Lynda will at the NFU Headquarters, Stoneleigh on Monday evening 12th February and at the Farmers Club, Westminster on Wednesday 14th February from 10am in the morning amongst other venues during the week.
